About Rebecca Robinson

I'm a country girl who loves being outdoors where everything seems new every morning. It is my passion to write about life and experiences while at the same time, dipping into my imagination. Recently, I published three fiction books called "The Narrow Road Series". Previously in 2005, through Xulon Press, I published a non-fiction inspirational/biography/study book title - "When Time Stands Still" written under pen name Rebecca Hickson. Poetry is also included in many of my stories. You can listen to some of my music on soundcloud. Currently, I am working on the fourth book in "The Narrow Road Series". Writing and learning how the internet works, seems to take up a great deal of my time.

  1. I think it takes a very special person to leave the comfort and security of their homeland and venture to a country to be God’s hands to serve and to love. It is very clear you have a servants heart and I hope your experience will encourage others to go.

    • Thank you for commenting on the newsletter. It was a very good experience for Danny. We believe everyone should venture out and do something like this. Often we like to stay and work in the community which is very good. It is a big world and there are many places where help is needed. For Danny, his experience of meeting the children of El Shaddai and interacting with them expanded his perspective. He has a desire to help youth by simply teaching them the skills he has learned over his lifetime. Whether, working on cars, an ATV or moving bricks and making cement,it makes a difference. When at El Shaddai, he connected with the people and began to develop relationships. They gave him a new outlook on life. Like Danny said, “The only difference between here and there is the Milky Way.” We are all people. We all have needs. We are all just trying to survive in one way or another. I heard a song years ago. It was quite a funny song. “Don’t Send me to Africa. It was funny because most of us could relate. The words basically said, ‘Oh Lord, I’ll work in the nursery. I’ll be a greeter at the door. I’ll clean dishes, pray, to anything, but please Lord don’t send me to Africa.’ There are many organizations making a difference. One child at a time. One day at a time. Who knows. Maybe someday godspoetbychoice will veture to places you never even imagined. What is God calling you to do?

      Blessings,
      Rebecca

      • You both have such loving hearts and I am sure the Lord will keep using you to touch others. I think you set a great example for others to follow. Will I ever go to Africa it was always a girlhood dream for me to go I grew up reading about Joy Adamson and the work she was doing with Lions and every National Geographic Special on Africa I watched with great delite. But what is stopping me is my health. I have immune system defeciencies and I would be afraid that I would become ill and become a burden on the mission field. I also have a lot of trouble with Asthma in hot weather but who knows what the Lord has in mind for me if he is for it than not even my health would be an issue we will just have to wait and see where he leads.

  2. I believe our mission field is wherever you are at. Whether here or in Africa or in the grocery store, God can bring an inpact moment through a smile, a hug, a kind word or a prayer which can make a difference in one person’s life. I’m sure your writings minister to people and you don’t even have to leave home. Walk in His inspiration. I believe that all that you have been through and what you are going through will in some way be used to help someone else. Simply, because you have experienced these things. That being said, I pray you receive a healing and that your immune system will be strengthened to fight. I also pray healing for your entire body and that God will equip you for every good work He has for you. In Jesus name.
