Morning Coffee

The alarm clock went off this morning, telling me that it was time to get up. Pulling my aching body out of bed, I walk to the bathroom. My eyes instantly look out the window as I am drawn to the beautiful sunrise. Heavy dew lay over the field. A snapshot moment. I had to take a picture to capture the breath taking painted sky. A unique moment to capture before it fades away. It is as if this is the last magnificent sunrise I will ever see.

Time in life is like that. The days quickly go by and we can never relive those moments. We can try. Much like the sunrise this morning, there will never be the exact same one. Tomorrow there will be a different sunrise.

Our morning coffee pot gets turned on and we watch the time go by as it drips. We think we can’t be late for work or an appointment with someone we need to meet. I pour coffee into the blue cup before it finishes dripping. I pick up the keys to the car. Then, I grab my coat and my orange purse. I rush out the door to meet that time crunch and reach my destination on time. Spilling half of my coffee on the floor, I rush out the door.

Probably sounds familiar to many - the rush out the door to work every day. We don’t know how the rest of the day will go. We use the quiet time during the drive to thank Jesus for another beautiful morning. We ask him to bless and protect everyone on the journey. That is until the slow poke in front of us goes below the speed limit making me late. For a moment I lose focus from all of the thankfulness I sung in a praise. Then repent. Sorry Lord! Back to praying. This is my prayer that each of us find Jesus in the stillness. Even if that place is in the bathroom.

Have a good day.
These are my open window blogs. There can be so many windows within our mind open from one day to the next. Some days the storms come and a window gets closed. On the next day the sun is shining and the gentle breeze is welcomed. Some windows get shattered by life’s storms. Drapes cover over the broken ones. Life has many windows. When one gets closed, God opens another.
